Reduction of Paper Consumption TAITRA implemented an online paperwork system in May 2016. Sending and receiving documents online substantially shortened processing times and increased efficiency. In 2020, remote work became the norm and TAITRA expanded the system 2020, mobile device approvals for online documents were also implemented. Supervisors at all levels could sign-off on official documents via their mobile devices. From 2019 to 2020, the online approval rate of official documents increased from 50.78% to 79.41%, which greatly exceeded the government’s target of 45%. At the same time, TAITRA achieved more than 20% reduction in paper consumption, from 1,500 cartons in 2019 to 1,118 cartons in 2020. 47
