Taiwan Pavilion for Enlit Africa 2022 Official Delegations

Entrusted by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) had led five Taiwanese enterprises to participate in Enlit Africa 2022. This year marks the first time Taiwan is participating.

The Event took place from June 7–9 at the International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa. There are a wide range of products in the Taiwan Pavilion: the photovoltaic solar power system, LED balloon lights, solar-powered corrugated metal roofing, battery storage systems, and electrical cables.

There are five companies in the Taiwan Pavilion. First, Orient Collection supplies a full range of solar PV components, including inverters, modules, structures, and a complete balance of systems to ensure the best coverage for all demands. Second, South Ocean Electric Wire Company (SOEW), a subsidiary of the JSE-listed company, manufactures low voltage wire & cables for the South African market.

Third, HAMAK Solar manufactures related equipment for solar power systems with the brand HAMAK. Their products include PV string combiner boxes, aluminum mounting racks, PV charge controllers, solar motor drives, and stand-alone PV charging stations. The Solar Motor Drive is designed for the areas where out of power to apply in such applications as solar pumping system, ventilation system or paddle wheel aerator in aquaculture.

Fourth, Yuang Light produces a series of portable LED lights suited to a wide range of industrial, construction, and outdoor users. Their LED technology ensures that the lights are bright enough for any application with long life spans, while also minimizing power consumption.

Finally, Aplus Energy has core expertise on creating technical innovations for solar modules from development and manufacturing to quality assurance to sales and service. Aplus Energy supplies patented solar panels to many countries where the demand for solar-powered roof coverings is emerging.

Taiwan is undergoing a major energy transition. The current government is focused on eliminating nuclear power from the island by 2025 and replacing it with a vast new renewable energy sector, especially emphasizing solar and offshore wind energy. By 2025, Taiwan will generate 20 percent of its electricity through renewable energy, a goal which is backed by the Four-year Wind Power Promotion Plan and the Two-year Solar PV Promotion Plan. Following these projects, the capacity for renewable power is expected to reach 26.9 gigawatts (GW) within five years.

Energy Taiwan, the most iconic renewable energy exhibition in Taiwan, will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (TaiNEX 1), from October 19–21, 2022. In response to international efforts in the fight against global warming and the pursuit of net zero carbon emissions, Energy Taiwan 2022 added two more new shows, “Emerging Power Taiwan” and “Net-Zero Taiwan,” to its already star-studded exhibition that highlights solar photovoltaics, wind energy, and smart energy storage.
